David Beckham sports a PNE TownEnder t-shirt with fan Russell Schofield at Deepdale DAVID Beckham-In at The Deep End is on sale in July 2008. The book features England and LA Galaxy ace Beckham from his time on loan at Preston from Manchester United in 1995 as a teenager.

"It was a real coup when Preston North End attained the services of David Beckham at Deepdale," said Sir Tom Finney.
In an extract from the book, Sir Tom said: "Beckham was a relatively unknown player at the time. And it was only later on in life that he became the player we know today.
"However, I believe that in Sir Alex Ferguson loaning him out to Preston at the time was a good move, and one that has benefited him greatly."
Sir Tom added: "It was the right time for David Beckham to gain experience in the game, the experience needed to progress. And it was an important part of his career path.
"After playing for Preston North End David went back to Manchester United and had huge success at Old Trafford."
On Beckham joining the MLS, Sir Tom said: "I believe that he has gone to LA Galaxy, following his time at Real Madrid, to see football from the American side."
On Deepdale, Sir Tom said: "Having David Beckham at Deepdale for the short time he was there he was a big asset to Preston North End Football Club."
